| Measuring Your Progress |
| People often give up on a good weightlifting program much to quickly. Just because you
don't see dramatic results overnight doesn't mean that the program is not working.
Making long lasting, significant changes to your physique takes time. Here a few good
ways to measure your progress and stay motivated. |
| 1) Record each workout in your exercise journal. Journals can be a great source of
motivation since they allow you to compare your past and present workouts. When you
don't feel like your physique is changing, your journal can reassure you that your strength is
increasing, so the muscles should follow. |
| 2) Periodically check your body composition. This is the only way to be sure of exactly
how much muscle you've gained or fat you have lost. Your local gym should be able to
check your body composition for free or a reasonable price. Many personal trainers will
do this for free the first time in order to get you interested in a training program.
|
| 3) How do you feel? Do you feel more alive and energetic or tired and irritable? Take a
moment to really think about how you feel throughout the day. Proper training and
nutrition should make you feel better, not worse. If you don't feel better since starting
this program, maybe you're over doing it. Take a look at what you're doing and make the
right adjustments.

Hopefully you are making great progress. |
| Stay focused and enjoy the process! |
