Can changing your weight training routine give you better results faster? |
| Changing your routine every once in a while can do wonders for your training
in terms of increasing your muscle growth. Here are just a few of the many
reasons why you should periodically change your workouts. |
| - Shock stubborn muscle groups into new growth by performing a routine
that your body has not grown accustom to doing. |
| - People are usually more motivated when doing something new. If you're not
training hard because you're unmotivated, changing your workout may be exactly
what you need. |
| How should I change my workout? |
| The change doesn't have to be anything incredibly traumatic like an entirely new routine.
It can be as simple as increasing the amount of weight that you are lifting. Try performing
more reps with less weight or vice versa. Experiment with different exercises and
machines. |
| A good way to effectively change your routine is to simply select a different workout from
the Workout Wizard. Let's say you are using one of the split routines from the Muscle
Gain program. Simply click on "change workout" and select a new routine. The Shaping
and Toning program also offers a variety of routines. |
| Sounds good, but what if I am getting good results with my current routine? |
| Doing a different routine for a couple of weeks is still a good idea (especially if you
have been doing the exact same workout for more than 2-3 months). Sooner or later your body
will adjust to any weight training routine that you have been doing for an extended period
of time. |
| Personally, I try to change my routine every 2-3 weeks because my body tends
to adjust quickly to most routines. After you have performed a different workout for 1-2
weeks, return to your old routine. |
| The best routine is often a different routine. Keep those muscles guessing by periodically
changing your routine. |
